Halloween Happenings: Spooky Celebrations in the Land of Steel

It’s that time of year when Mississippi County comes alive with spooky fun, sweet treats and community spirit! Whether you’re into festive costumes, classic Halloween movies or trunk-or-treat events for the whole family, there’s something for everyone to enjoy across the Land of Steel this Halloween. Check out the roundup of local events happening countywide:

Osceola: Trick-or-Treat on the Courthouse Square

October 28 | 5:30–7:00 p.m. | Downtown Osceola

Celebrate Halloween early with a night full of fun in the heart of downtown Osceola! Kids up to age 14 can enjoy free trick-or-treating, food trucks, games and festive activities around the courthouse square. The event also features a pumpkin decorating contest (entries due Oct. 27) and a costume contest with judging via photo. Local businesses, nonprofits and residents are encouraged to join the fun by hosting candy booths—no admission required!

Leachville: Haunts on Main + Movie Night at Melody Theater

October 31 | 5:00–8:30 p.m. | Historic Downtown Leachville

Downtown Leachville transforms into a haunted wonderland for the annual Haunts on Main! Join thousands of ghouls, goblins and superheroes for one of the region’s largest Halloween celebrations. With spooky lampposts, creepy sidewalk decor, bouncy houses, food trucks and trick-or-treat booths set up by local businesses and residents, this event is truly one-of-a-kind—and completely free!

Cap off the night at 8:30 p.m. with a special showing of The Nightmare Before Christmas at the historic Melody Theater, located just steps away from the festivities.

Wilson: Trunk-or-Treat & Town Square Fun

October 31 | 5:00–10:00 p.m. | Wilson Town Square

Halloween in Wilson is about community, comfort and connection. Start your evening at Trunk-or-Treat on the Square, where kids can gather candy and show off their costumes in the heart of town. Then stick around for dinner at the Wilson Café and live music at Staple, happening both Friday and Saturday night.

As the harvest season winds down, it’s the perfect time to take in the crisp fall air, explore the square and enjoy a festive weekend in one of the county’s most picturesque towns.

Trick-or-Treat on Main – Blytheville

October 31 | 4:00 p.m. | Main Street Blytheville

Main Street Blytheville is the place to be on Halloween afternoon! Join local businesses and community groups for trick-or-treating up and down the historic strip. It’s a great way to explore downtown, support local shops and get into the spirit of the season.

New Life Tabernacle Trunk-or-Treat – Wilson

October 31 | 6:00–8:00 p.m. | 7 Union St, Wilson, AR

Hosted by New Life Tabernacle Church, this free event invites families to enjoy candy-filled trunks, bounce houses, games, food and fellowship. Kids can dress up and make their way through decorated vehicles while parents connect with neighbors. All are welcome—no RSVP needed!

ANC Wilson: Trick-or-Treat the Campus

October 31 | 4:00–6:00 p.m. | The Lawrence Family Campus of ANC, Wilson

Before heading to the square, stop by Arkansas Northeastern College’s Wilson campus for Trick-or-Treat the Campus! Local businesses and community organizations will line the quad to hand out treats. It’s a safe, walkable circuit perfect for young families—and it’s free and open to the public.

Osceola First Baptist Trunk-or-Treat

October 29 | 6:00–7:30 p.m. | 2900 W Keiser Ave, Osceola

Get your Halloween started early at this uplifting community event hosted by First Baptist Church in Osceola. Enjoy an evening of trunk-or-treating, fellowship and family-friendly fun in a safe and welcoming environment.
